Excel 2007 Slow saving

I am using Excel 2007 on a corporate network, when i have a large file to
save, sometimes the save will take a long time to save (in exces of 15
minutes) I have downloaded a trial version to my home computer and tried it
there, and i get the same problem. - Anyone come across this, and anyone
found a fix for this yet.
I am considering going back to Office 2003, which i know works !! Ron P

If your file has a lot of heavy duty formulas...

You could try to turn off the 'calculate before save' option, but that only
delays the inevitable because sooner or later you're going to need to do
worksheet/workbook re-calcs.

Excel 2007... trying to make the best use of multi-core processors. A very
nice concept but, for now, a very poor implementation by Microsoft. Even
when the pc doesn't have multi-core, the Excel 2007 user is still stuck in
low, slow gear.

I am having the same problem. Excel takes 7 minutes to save once. While the
workbook is very formula-heavy, the calculations happen in just a few
seconds, then it just bogs down saving it.

In my case, there are 12,700 vlookup formulas, but not very many others. I
had created a workbook very similar a few months ago and did not have this
problem, and I am having a hard time nailing down what's confusing the
machine so badly.

Hoping to see a solution:

I think I found the problem from he

In my case, it was my lookup functions using columns as ranges to search,
instead of either applying dynamic ranges, or simply reducing the size of the
searched array. It was not a problem until I had vlookups in the thousands. I
found some interesting info about volatile functions, etc as well, he
