Shortcut menu won't appear when I click right mouse button.

I have just put Excel on my computer and am having trouble using the mouse
with it. I am unable to use the right mouse button to bring up a shortcut
menu - no, it doesn't come up when I click the left mouse button either. I
want to be able to see the Source & Chart Options when I right click in the
middle of a chart. I also would like to be able to highlight a large number
of cells and right click to bring up the shortcut menu so that I can insert
new rows and/or delete the current highlighted rows.

Usually that has to do with some sort of an addin taking over the
functionallity of the right click menu. Do you have Essbase installed per
chance. That is the normal cuprit. If so Select Essbase - Options - Global
tab and uncheck Secondary Mouse Button.

Yes, I do have Essbase. That was exactly what I needed. Thanks so much!

The right click in Essbase allows you to pivot your data around similar to a
pivot table in XL. With secondary button checked you can right click and drag
your dimension around. Very handy to be able to do.
