Excel v. 2000 won't auto-open later version files
When I double click on a newer version XLS file, my v 2000 starts but no file
loads. I have to use the v.2000 File/Open menu to search for the file and load it. Is there an upgrade to obviate this step? Comments much appreciated. |

Usually this means you have Ignore Other Applications selected under Tools,
Options, General. -- Jim "aptly10" wrote in message ... | When I double click on a newer version XLS file, my v 2000 starts but no file | loads. I have to use the v.2000 File/Open menu to search for the file and | load it. Is there an upgrade to obviate this step? | | Comments much appreciated. |

Jim:
As we say in Australia, "yer blood's worth bottling!" That's an accolade; an expression of high praise. But what a commentary on the arcane rules of MS. Whoever would have presumed newer versions of Excel counted as "other applications"?
