Remove the word "The " from multiple cells so as to sort them?
 

Remove the word "The " from multiple cells so as to sort them?
 

The Doors
The Who
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
The J. Geils Band

Try this:

Select the range of cells in question
Goto the menu EditReplace
Find what: The<space (enter a space after typing "The"
Replace with: nothing, leave this empty
Replace All
