How do I get the parenthesis option in NUMBERS format, Excel 2007.
I want to have negative numbers entered within parentheses in an Excel work
sheet. "Number" format should provide this option, but in my copy, I only have "red' or a "-" sign. Is there a defect in my copy of Excel 2007, and if so, how can I repair it? The Help file implies that I should have this option, either in "Number" or "Accounting" or "Currency" formats. None seem to provide it. Is there an error I can correct? Thanks |

weard that it is not there in the "numbers" section. you can go to custom
and choose one or make one like this #,##0_);(#,##0) "Oldster" wrote: I want to have negative numbers entered within parentheses in an Excel work sheet. You could change the format of the cell, but if you want the ()'s to show up for
negative numbers in the format|cells|number tab, you'll have to change a windows setting. Windows start button|control panel regional and language options regional options tab click the customize button currency tab change the negative currency format to show ()'s.
