Calculate days

hi
with 6/3/08 in a1 and 6/3/06 in b1...
=a1-b1
format as custom yy:mm:dd
the above formula and format produces....
01:12:31
or 1 year, 12 months, 31 days

regards

Calculate days

Note, that this will not always produce correct results.
It works with your example dates, but if you try
3/1/08 in A1 and 2/1/08 in B1 you will get
00:01:29

Wouldn't a naive user have hoped to get 2 years from such a question?
And if you add a day to the length of a period, and you use 7/3/08 in A1 and
6/3/06, wouldn't one hope to get 2 years 0 months 1 day, rather than 2 years
1 month 1 day?

Isn't DATEDIF a better bet?
