FILES WON'T OPEN

I am suddenly unable to open files in any Office program. The programs open
but none of the files. I can see my email but not open it. In Word, I can
create a file and save it but when I try to re-open it, it just locks up. I
have removed and re-installed the whole suite from my legal CD, run a
registry fix software, run Norton, and re-booted a dozer times. Nothing is
working. I even have to use a different computer to do this. Anyone ever
have these problems? Oh, yeah, and I have Vista

It sounds to me as if you may have some sort of infection even although
Norton cannot find anything. Try posting your problem in the
microsoft.public.security.virus newsgroup.

Are you opening the file from inside the application or just double
clicking the file? Is the default printer still working?

Trying to open from inside the application. I have not tried the printer,
since I couldn't open anything to print.

Look in Start, Settings, Printer and faxes, check or set a valid
printer, and try the file again. Another possible is you have "Norton"
Office plugin enabled and it is causing the problem.
