AutoSum turned off?
 

I am trying to do a simple AutoSum of a column of numbers - but the AutoSum
button is dimmed - will not activate for any cell, column or row? What is
wrong and how do I fix it?

Because the worksheet has a blue box around it, I am guessing this worksheet
was maybe created as a list - if so, how do I correct this?

Move the cell pointer to a locatio within the list and do the following:

Click DATA in the menu
Select LIST
Select CONVERT TO RANGE.

However, if you click VIEW in the menu and select the LIST toolbar there's a
command button on that toolbar that will toggle row totals On/Off.
