How do I turn 1 cell into 2 cells without adding columns or rows?
Is it possible to divide a cell into more than one cell without adding rows
or columns to the worksheet? I need to be able to apply borders to the new cells created. |

Hi,
Sorry, you can't split basic cells in Excel. You can add a diagonal line in Format Cells Borders, which is the closest you'll get. The other approach is to merge all cells across 2 columns, then un-merge just the ones you want to "split." But merging can create other problems when trying to manipulate data and layout.
