Using Match and Index
Hi,
I think that these are probabaly the functions I need but not sure. What I want to do is match data from two sheets. Sheet 1 has 2005 data and sheet 2 has 2006 data the data is the same type but arranged differently. 2006 has employee number in column D and test type E test subtype F and result in G. The person who the data is being prepared for would like the data displayed in the same way as 2005 sheet and pulled together for the two years. 2005 data has 1 row per employee and the results of tests and subtests are laid out in columns. 2006 data looks as though it has been laid out to facilitate use in a pivot table but I'm only a newbie so can't play with the data that way and the boss wants it the same as 2005 e.g. employee number = D Test Battery A Subtest 1 Result = E ......Test Battery D Subtest 4 Result = V. Any suggestions please? Cheers -- TD |
