Not exactly I mean Jan 1st is the first day of the year, so I want the cell
to have the number one in it. Jan 20, feb 1st is the 32nd day of the year, so I would like the sell to have the number 32 in it. Even if you have a text format or an apostrophe ' before January 1, 2005,

I tried to put 'january 1, 2005 into cell A1 and then entered =day(a1) into a
different cell but someting is wrong. the cell says #value now. where did I go wrong..
