Problem with Regression function in 2007, Analysis Tool Pak

Hi. I need to perform the regression function for a class project...we are
building asset portfolios. I watched my professor do it in class, and it
seemed so easy.
I downloaded the add-in, "Analysis Tool Pak." From there, I do the
regression:

Y Values: individual stock returns-RFR (200 values).
X Values: S&P returns-RFR (200 values).

95% Confidence Intervals

I click residuals, plots, and line fit plots. After I click "OK" Excel says
that it stopped working, then it restarts, and it provides the data on a
seperate sheet, however, there is only one empty chart provided. I am
supposed to get TWO scatter-plot charts.

Do I need to add in more features? What is wrong here?

Hi Lauren,

First take a look at this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942430/en-us

On my machine I get all three plots. In the past, using versions earlier
than 2007, I did have problems from time to time. Unfortunately I was never
able to identify the problem. Try doing it on another machine. (I'm running
2007 SP 1 and under Vista SP 1).

You might check to see if Service Pack 1 is installed - File (Office
Button), Excel Options, Resources, about Microsoft Office Excel 2007 (on the
line just below that title is should have SP1 listed.

Thanks for the quick response! Also, thank you for the hotfix info...that
would have been impossible to find. I checked, and I am running under SP1,
so I assume that my computer is just one of those "special cases" that needs
the hotfix. I've sent a request to Microsoft; I will update this when I
download the hotfix...until then...the homework remains undone (which is ok,
because it is 75 and sunny out :)...
