hi
no you don't. trust me. you want to create catagories for your products with 2 or 3 characters(letters or numbers so long as it follows a logical order) to start. you may want a seperator such as a dash(-) then products numbered sequentually. this brings some sort of order to your inventory numbering system. you can then manage your inventory by catagory(smaller groups) instead of trying to digest the whole inventory at one time. opinions do vary on this topic as to methodology but some sort of order to the inventory system is paramount. avoid anything and everything that has something to do with "random". regards FSt1 member APICS "EJ Jacques" wrote: I have 5 sheets of products and I want to create random item numbers (6 digits).
