worksheet/file name :1 :2
 
hi,

when i open up a file...i have two worksheets in that file
one is :1 and the other is :2.

how do I get rid of one of these??

on the menu bar...
editDelete sheet

are you talking about a new workbook? if so
on the menu bar...
toolsoptionsgeneral tabssheet in a new workbook.
this will set how many sheets any new workbook will have.

no, when i open up the file,
I have two workbooks that have the same information on them,
and when i enter information on one, it goes to the second one...
up on the far left with the name of the file, one says filename:1
and the other one says filename:2

It's actually two different windows or views into the same workbook.

Select the window you don't want and hit ctrl-w.

Then save the workbook--or you'll be doing it again.
