Nothing shows in formula bar!

There is nothing showing in the formula bar when going to a cell with data in
it; I can see the data on the sheet, but... The default font is automatic
(black); I have no workbook template (using default); I have not changed
Windows font in anyway; help! Thanks!

Is the sheet protected and the cells are set to unlocked, but hidden?

Or somesuch variation.

ToolsProtection. Is Unprotect Sheet available?

Thank you for your reply; no, the workbook/worksheet is not protected; I can
see the data just fine in the formula bar on any other computer, just not
this computer; there must be a setting someplace, but I don't know where or
what???

Just to verify..................

You type 1234qwerty in a cell.

You can see 1234qwerty in the cell but nothing is visible in the Formula bar.

Is that correct?

What version of Excel?

I don't use 2007 so don't know if that version has any toggle but definitely not
in earlier versions.

I really appreciate your quick responses today, and yes, per your question
that would have been the result, i.e., nadda, but I think we figured out that
it has something to do with the additional flat panel display on the
laptop,i.e., Excel looks/acts normally and we can see data in the formula bar
when displayed on the laptopo screen, but when the client drags the Excel
screen to the secondary flat panel display, the data does not show in the
formula bar! It must be something quirky with the graphics adapter! :(

Sorry for the non-Excel issue, but I appreciate your replies.

Go to the web site for the mfr of the troubled screen and download the
latest drivers for the display.
