Paste special for formulas

The paste special feature does not seem to be working for my formulas.
Instead of giving me the option to paste formulas/formats/values etc. I just
get a dialog box with the option to paste as object/picture/bitmap etc... how
can I paste my formulas?!?

(Using Excel 2003)
Thank you for any help you can provide.

I've been getting the same thing, but it is not consistent, does not happen
every time. When I did use it I had to select excel 2008? can't remember
now. But this also changed my link and added some formula numbers. (This
did work). A little while ago I had to borrow a nearby link and paste it
then change the cell number to make them uniform.

If you have two instances of Excel running and are trying to copy/paste from one
to the other you will get the "other" paste special dialog as you have.

Run both workbooks in one instance of Excel.
