issue....

hi guys , please i need your advice on this one :
i have the following given :

A B
1 max 10
2 ralph 20
3 max 30
4 max 40
5 ralph 50

i would like to have the related results of "max" and "ralph"...how can
this be achieved ??? index(...,small(...) ) maybe ??? HOW ????
