You can use a Data Validation Dropdown list to pick your part number from and a
VLOOKUP formula to bring back the description. DV dropdowns do not have the autocomplete feature. You would have to use a combobox for that. See Debra Dalgeish's site for help on DV and VLOOKUP. Note the downloadable sample workbooks. http://www.contextures.on.ca/xlFunctions02.html http://www.contextures.on.ca/xlDataVal01.html For the combobox solution see http://www.contextures.on.ca/xlDataVal10.html Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Mon, 5 May 2008 11:25:00 -0700, chrisbmo2000 wrote: For my invoice i am using a inventory page so all i have to do is type in the part number and it lists a description and price.......can i make excel show a list of part #s and description with out disturbing the vlookup formula already in place? |

I assumed.......there's that word again.........that your data was in separate
cells. Part# Description Price If you have double data in cells you may have to split it out.
