How can I copy print options from one tab to another tab?

My desire is to have all the tabs in Excel print identically including
footers, headers, margins, etc. I love the format painter option for
formatting is there something similiar for print options?

Select one sheet then right-click on the sheet tab and "Select all sheets".

Do your print setup on the active sheet and will be done to all.

Notable exceptions.............print range cannot be set, rows to repeat at top
cannot be set.

If you want all new workbooks and sheets to have those settings...............

Open a new workbook. Customize as you wish.

e.g. To set a footer for each sheet, select a sheet then right-click and
"select all sheets".

Enter your footer on the active sheet and will be done to all. Ungroup sheets
when done.

FileSave As Type: scroll down to Excel Template(*.XLT) and select. Name your
workbook "BOOK"(no quotes). Excel will add the .XLT to save as BOOK.XLT.

Store this workbook in the XLSTART folder usually located at........

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

This will be the default workbook for FileNew or the Toolbar button FileNew or
CTRL + n

WARNING................Do not use FileNew...Blank Workbook or you will get the
Excel default workbook.

NOTE: Existing workbooks are not affected by these settings.

You can also open a new workbook and delete all but one sheet. Customize as
you wish then save this as SHEET.XLT in XLSTART folder also. It now becomes
the default InsertSheet.

More can be found on this in Help under "templates"(no quotes).

Hi Sean,

What Gord says <grin.

I use the following technique to quickly apply a standard footer to any new
worksheet.

Record a macro with the footer (and other settings as required) as you want
it.

Assign the macro to a custom button (the button with a coupla footprints
fitted the bill for me).

Push button when required.

Now I must get round to making a "clear standard footer" button ...

Cheers,

Matt
