How do I turn off the automatic text suggestion in excel?

I am trying to write a macro to merge data in several cells into one with
dashes between. The automatic fill of text is messing this up. For example,
if you have "public service" written in the same column and you go to write
something else that starts with a "p" in automatically suggest the text. If
that is the column being used for the macro merge of data then it leaves the
suggested text with the way the macro is being written. If I can turn off
this auto fill of text then my problem would be solved. Any suggestions?

If you go to the Office Button, Excel Options, Advanced Tab, and deselect the
check mark next to Enable Autocomplete for Cell Values.

This should turn the autocomplete feature off for you.
