Address number changes to calendar format
Whenever i input house address eg 5/11 Smith St, the 5/11 changes to 5-June.
How do I stop this and/or change the 5-June back to 5/11? |

Either format the cell as text or start the entry with '5/11.

I tried that and all it did was change the 5-Nov to 35493 or something -
that was the first thing i tried hence my post here. Thanks anyway, but i'm looking to get a fix that will convert the 500 lines of mixed 5/11 and 5-Nov entries that now exist, lol. I suppose it will give me something to do until close of business on Friday... I thought there might have been another way to convert the dodgy data. You need to format the cell as text BEFORE you enter the data.

I don't see how 5/11 could change into 5-June. Either it could be
interpreted as 11th May, or as 5th November, depending on your regional time settings !! Pete "timbo2008au" wrote in message ... Whenever i input house address eg 5/11 Smith St, the 5/11 changes to 5-June. How do I stop this and/or change the 5-June back to 5/11? |

If you format the existing data as text then any that are dates should
display as the equivalent date number (e.g. 39757). You can then use find and replace (Ctrl +H) to replace the numbers with '5/11 Andrea Jones www.allaboutoffice.co.uk "timbo2008au" wrote: I tried that and all it did was change the 5-Nov to 35493 or something - that was the first thing i tried hence my post here.
