I am trying to do a mail merge from my Excel database and a Word doc.
Thezip code is giving me problems. Any Zip Codes beginning with 0 do
do not merge correctly. I have tried everything. I have tried as
text as numbers as special with zip and still no luck. PLEASE HELP I
have a mailing that has to get done.

You can either use the field formatting options within Word, or in Excel you
can use the TEXT function to format the number appropriately.

There's an article on the Microsoft web site that might help you:

Answer Box: Numbers don't merge right in Word

And if you prefer the old Mail Merge helper, Word MVP Suzanne Barnhill
has instructions he

about half way down the page.
