If and AND in Conditional Formatting

Forgive me if I haven't got the title quite right but this is what I'm trying
to achieve.

I'm trying to set up a conditional format that will change the colour to red
if Cell b3 = Yes and Cell b4 = No then Red
If cell b3 = No and cell b4 = yes then red
but if cell b3 = yes and cell b4 = yes then no change.

I'm not completely au fait with IF statements or if they can be used in CF
but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If and AND in Conditional Formatting

Hi,

You don't say which cell is to change color so select the cel which can be
B3, B4, Both or another cell and try this

Format|Conditional format|Formula is and enter this

=AND($B$3="Yes",$B$4="No")
Pick Red
Click Add and enter this formula
=AND($B$3="No",$B$4="Yes")
and once agin pick your colour and click OK

Which cells do you want to change? If both, then highlight both, click
on Format | Conditional Formatting and then in the pop-up select
Formula Is rather than Cell Value Is in the first box, and then enter
this formula in the next box:

=$B$3<$B$4

Then click the Format button, and select the colour you want (Red).
You can also choose Bold, and maybe change the background colour
(Patterns tab). Click OK twice to exit the dialogue box.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Guys - it's so simple when you know how. I know the $ makes the
reference absolute, as I intend inserting lines but not columns in the table
(alot of them) would I be right in saying that I would us "B$3 and B$4" in
the formula instead of "$B$3 AND $B$4"?
