Formatting Pivot Tables

I have a pivot table, and I want to format the look of it. I want to make
the text bold in the columns and I also want to make those cells in the
columns to be filled with a particular colour eg grey.

The problem I have is that everytime I refresh the pivot table all changes
that I made to formatting eg. Bold Text or Background Colours get wiped and
the defaults are used.

Is there anyway I can prevent this from happening because it is driving me
nuts....

Thanks in advance.

Right click anywhere in your pivot table and then select Table Options.
Tick the box Preserve formatting

Yeah I've tried that. As soon as I refresh the table all my formatting is
replaced.
Any other ideas?

The problem was with the type of pivot table format I was using, I changed
the type of pivot table format and selected one which was fairly plain, I was
then able to make the necessary format changes and the pivot retained the
changed I made even after refreshing.
