date formt in Excel
I am trying to format dates as dd/mmm/yyyy in Excel and it will not do it for
dates before 1900. I did not have this problem with office 2003 - so much for upgrades |
date formt in Excel
No version of excel (including xl2003) supported dates before Jan 1, 1900.
You could enter the value as text, but it won't be a date--it'll be text. If you need to do date arithmetic with these old dates, you may want to look at John Walkenbach's addin: http://j-walk.com/ss/excel/files/xdate.htm Nicwnacw wrote: I am trying to format dates as dd/mmm/yyyy in Excel and it will not do it for dates before 1900.
