How to automatize this simple task on Excel?

Hi all,

I have an Excel sheet which I update (adding stuff at the bottom) via
the Windows clipboard.
I manually do "Format Cells / Numbers / 2 digits" each time on some
columns to fix them after paste. Is there a way to force a certain data
type and alignment on a column even if you paste unformatted text there?

Thanks a lot,
Marco

What happens if you paste the data with "Paste special"?

Format all cells in the column as you would like them to be.
There should me some option in "Paste special" that inserts the
data without any formatting. In Excel 2007 it is called Text, but
I have not checked for other versions.

Hope this helps / Lars-Åke

When you paste data in a worksheet a clip board will appear on the bottom
right corner of the pasted data. You should have a choice of what format to
use. Usually it is test or match destination. You should select match
destination or paste as text. try alloption until you get the results that
you desire.

Your worksheet should have each column formated the way you want for the
entire column (even rows that don't have data) so when you paste the data it
takes the correct format.
