How can I convert an excell file from windows 98 on to works spr.

I have changed my computer and need to know how I can transfer some of my
files Office 97 excell, to Works XP spread sheet

Debra Dalgleish

You should be able to open your Excel files in Works, but not all of the
features will be available.

Hi Debra

Thanks for your reply, I have copied the files onto a floppy disk but I
still cannot open the file it sys to go to Microsoft, when I go there it
tells me that it is a xls sheet which I already know and I must admit I'm not
very comfortable on the internet so I don't know what to do next. These
files are important to me, so at the moment I have both computers on and work
with both of them which is a pain.

Regards

Instead of working from a floppy disk, copy the files onto the other
computer, then try to open them.

No, you don't need to connect the computers.

Copy the files from the old computer onto the floppy disk.
Insert the floppy disk into the new computer
Open Windows Explorer
In Windows Explorer, copy the files from the floppy, onto the new computer
Remove the floppy disk from the new computer

Open Works, and open the file that was copied to the new computer.
