Spliting a cell into two parts

How do I split a cell into two halves?

I would like to display a heading in cell C1.

I would llike to split cell C2 into two halves.

I want to display percentages in each half.

I am using Microsoft Excel 2003

Thank you for your help.

If you mean physically split a single cell into two halves.........cannot be
done.

If you want the contents of a single cell split into 2 cells, can be done.

A workaround for the first is to use the drawing toolbar to draw a line
splitting the cell into two parts.

Space out your data to fill both sides of the line.

Visual effect only.
