Excel offers to let your font align on the diag. How can you make the grid
lines on that row match?

If you use an outline border (Format | Cells | Border tab) rather than
gridlines, this will adjust to suit the orientation of the cell
contents.

Hope this helps.

hi
if i understand you, not really.
the horizontal grid lines of the row can be set to color white(or match the
cell color) which would make them seem like they are not there, then you can
set diagonal lines through the center of the cell(with formating of borders)
so that it would appear the the row is skewed diagonal. you could then use
row heighth and column width to adjust the diagonals. but you would still
have an invisable horizontal cell border( that you can't really get rid of)
that would keep it from being a true diagonal which might cause a problem
with text and numbers.
