Formulas - Countif and Fill Down
Hello,
I created a Countif function to add totals from Column A. =Countif(A:A,1). I have over 6000 entries and would like a way to Fill Down and have the Criteria in my range automatically update from ranges of 1 to 295. Is this possible or do I need to create a Macro? Thanks |
Formulas - Countif and Fill Down
Hi,
Your question is a bit confusing in that you say you add the 1's in column A with the formula =countif(a:a,1) If you really mean add up then that only works by luck because what it's doing is counting the instances of 1 which just happens to be the same as summing them which wouldn't work for any other number. However, if you mean countif and want to drag it try this =COUNTIF(A:A,ROW(A1)) Dragging it down 1 row will count all the number 2 etc Mike "Joey" wrote: Hello, I created a Countif function to add totals from Column A. =Countif(A:A,1).
