Hi
If you change cell format to text in excel and then copy from word and select pastespecial and as text when pasting seems to work for me Tina "Eddie Spaghetti" wrote: when pasting data from a web page [ Metric/Inch Conversion] into excel, fractions turn into dates. Hi
Eddie I don't know why formatting to text does not work but if you save excel spreadsheet as text document then pastespecial as text save file reopen as text delimiter tick tab space and select next fractions column to text afterwards save as .xls file though probably quicker to copy from word Tina "Eddie Spaghetti" wrote: What does work is formatting excel as text then from word pasting special as text [as was suggested by tina] buit why doesnt it work directly into excel ??
