prevent copying of cells

I have created a database which I want to widely distribute, I however want
to prevent any changes to it and importantly to prevent anyone being able to
copy cells into another workbook. I can lock the sheet, create a password to
prevent it being opened or modified (apart from inserting new cells), but
cannot seem to prevent a simple ctrl+c being able to copy the cells and then
paste them somewhere else...can you please please help? I'd be very grateful
Thank you

prevent copying of cells

Hi,

I very much doubt if there is any way you can give a workbook to someone and
prvent them doing what they will with it. Worksheet/book protection is
really only intended to prevent accidental changes to a sheet/book and can be
defeated in minutes.

An excellent example of disabling cut/cop/paste can be found here
http://www.vbaexpress.com/kb/getarticle.php?kb_id=373
but it relies on the person opening the workbook enabling macros

making a user enable macros is very difficult and one way of doing it is
here. Well it doesn't make them do it but they are denied access to the
workbook if they don't

Hope this helps.
