I used to use ETrade's DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) addin with Excel 2003 on
Windows XP, but now that I have upgraded to Vista, the ETrade add-in menu no longer loads up, even though I can see the add-in in Tools-Addins. |

Do you mean Excel 2007? Maybe you should check with ETrade whether they have
a version that's compatible with 2007. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ "df4000" wrote in message ... No I have Excel 2003 running on Vista. I've already tried working with
ETrade but they maintain that the add in should work in the environment I've outlined, even though it doesn't work for me! "Jon Peltier" wrote: Do you mean Excel 2007? Sorry, a lot of people seem to think Excel 2007 is code named "Vista".
One problem I've had in my severely limited testing in Vista is that the I used to install my add-ins in the C:\Program Files hierarchy, but running as a regular user (not an admin), the user has no privileges in the installation directory, so simple things like the program saving data in a settings file no longer work. I've moved my install directory under C:\Documents\<username\AppData (or whatever the precise path is in Vista). Check where the add-in is installed and if it's trying to save information in the same directory. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ "df4000" wrote in message ...
