LOST IN A CELL???
 
I have several sheets in a workbook. In say cells E10:E26 I want to have
only three numbers to choose from (i.e. 15, 30, 45). I want to use one sheet
as the master. When say cell E10 is filled, the same field in the other
sheets will fill. In addition I want to be able to change the same field in
the second sheet but still be able to enter the number in the master and
change the second sheet. If this makes since can anyone give me any help?

Let's break it down ..

In say cells E10:E26 I want to have
only three numbers to choose from (i.e. 15, 30, 45).


No prob. In say Sheet1 (the "master"), you could select the range, then
apply Data Validation, Allow: List, Source: 15,30,45

When say cell E10 is filled, the same field in the other sheets will fill.


No prob. In say, Sheet2, you could always place in E10:
=IF(Sheet1!E10="","",Sheet1!E10)
and copy E10 down to E26. This will achieve the effect that you mention.

In addition I want to be able to change the same field in
the second sheet but still be able to enter the number in the master and
change the second sheet


Aha, here's where there's an issue, as a cell can only contain a formula or
a manual input value at any single instance. You can always overwrite the
cell's formula in Sheet2 with a manual input of course, but then the
formula's gone forever, until/unless it is re-instated.

this be done in Visual Basic or a Macro?

I don't know. Your original post was sitting on board here for close to 6
hours -- responseless (before my response) during which time there would
have been some responders conversant in vba who passed by & read your post.

You might want to hang around awhile to see if somebody drops by here with
other thoughts for you. Or try another post in .programming.
