Numbering a filtered list in Excel 2002
I have a workbook with two worksheets. The first contains my entire
list of data, and the second is filtered to show only data from 2007. I would like the filtered worksheet to be numbered numerically. For example, even though the rows are numbered 1, 2, 11, 14, 61, 70, etc.; I would like column A to be numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. Is this possible? When I use the fill command the column is just filled with a single digit. Thank you for your help. |

If you don't have an extraordinarily long list,
try this: If your list is in B1:B25 (with B1 as the heading) A2: =SUBTOTAL(3,$B$2:B2) Copy A2 down through A25 Now, when you filter the list, Col_A will display sequential values. Does that help? -------------------------- Regards, Ron Microsoft MVP (Excel) (XL2003, Win XP) wrote in message ... I have a workbook with two worksheets.
