advanced filtering
Hola...
So I am trying to create a filter so that I can filter information based on completion dates within a specific range. My problem is that I can filter a date range as "1-31-2008", and It will show me all the criteria that match for the month of February 2008. On the other hand, when I try to filter a previous month (ie. all the matching criteria for the month of January2008) i will have either no results or the dates will be back to 2007 and not only the month of January. This is what I have tried: "12/31/07<2/01/2008" " 01/*/2008" I would so much appreciate it if someone could help me figure this out!!! it's been driving me crazy! |
advanced filtering
Lola,
Buenos Dias.....oops.....I mean Buenas Tardes!!! If you have AutoFilter turned on, then you could select "(Custom...)" from the auto filter dropdown in the date column you want to filter, then select a greater than (or greater than or equal to) in the first drop down list, select or enter your earlier date from the second drop down, make sure "And" is selected and then select Less than (or equal to) and your later date. If you are stuck using advanced filtering, you will probably need to enter the 2 dates on 2 different lines in the same column, creating an "AND" criteria. But that might not work correctly if you have multiple criteria. If that is the case, Debra Dalgleish has info on advanced filtering he http://www.contextures.com/xladvfilter01.html and http://www.contextures.com/xladvfilter02.html.
