Do you mean the cell that presents the list to the user? Or the list itself?
The easy way in both cases is to <copy a blank cell from somewhere in the worksheet, then paste it over the offending cells. Hope this helps. Pete "DougMcD" wrote in message ... Can anyone tell me how to remove a drop down list from a worksheet? |

I am trying to remove the complete cell. The drop own list presents data
from a range of cells. I canot get in to change the cell range and would prefer tp reference data on another sheet, so I would like to delete the cell in it's entirety. hi
if it is in a cell, it's validation. on the menu bar.... datavalidation... on the seting tab, change the combo box from list to any value. check the other tabs for any messages that might be there. delete them too. click ok. the validations should be gone. then.... see this site... http://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal01.html regards FSt1 "DougMcD" wrote: I am trying to remove the complete cell. When I go th the Data/Data Validation, the only options available are "cicrle
invalid data" and "clear validation circles". I have made sure the shet is unprotected but tht does not seem to help. I believe the excel sheet was initially drawn up in an older version of Excel. Would that be causing the problem? If so, how should I preceed? Thanks. You are going to the wrong menu.
You are selecting ToolsFormula Auditing toolbar and circling invalid data. Go to Data on the main menu bar and select "Validation" Then on the settings Tab select "Clear all" Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Wed, 27 Feb 2008 10:38:04 -0800, DougMcD wrote: When I go th the Data/Data Validation, the only options available are "cicrle invalid data" and "clear validation circles".
