Cells highlight when dragging mouse : Microsoft, Excel, 2003
When I click on a cell to enter data and then move the mouse after letting go
of the button wherever the mouse goes the cells highlight, you can only close excel by shutting it down through task manger. Basically this has rendered all my workbook useless. Any suggestions? -- jsweedler Assistant IT Admin |

You have ClickLock turned on. Just click to turn off selecting cells.
To turn of ClickLock, Control Panel/Mouse/Buttons/ClickLock - uncheck Turn on ClickLock Tyro "jsweedler" wrote in message ... I would hit the F8 key first to toggle out of Extended mode
If no joy with above, then not-so-gently tap on the wheel of your wheelie mouse. There is no setting in Excel that clears this up in versions earlier than 2007
I have no working knowledge of 2007 so will not speak for that version. Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Tue, 26 Feb 2008 17:55:01 -0800, jsweedler wrote: Tried that allready, there is a setting somewhere in excel that clears this up, I cant remember where it is. |

You're describing perfectly what ClickLock does. I've never seen a setting
in Excel to cause this. I currently use Excel 2007 and there is no setting there. After checking the F8 key and pounding on the mouse wheel, I have nothing.
