I hope I don't sound silly.
How can I get that to happen for a long list all at once without [putting: =rand()] in each row 1 row at a time? And if I have an existing list where column A is the name and B the phone number C email etc. How do I start a new column next to the name? I sure want to say THANK YOU for your help. ;-) I am a 62 YO, got my first computer January 2002. Each day I have a F-F relationship with this machine. F.. Fasination - F.. Frustration - F.. In addition to what Bob has said,
How do I start a new column next to the name? Select any cell in the list of names and then select Insert Column The computer will insert a new column to the left of the names column. How can I get that to happen for a long list all at once without [putting: =rand()] in each row 1 row at a time? Enter the formula in the first cell then hover the cursor over the little black square at the bottom right-hand corner of the cell with the formula. The cursor will change from a big white cross to a small black cross-hairs. With the cross-hairs showing, double left-click and eft-click and the computer will automatically copy the formula down the column. You can also hold the mouse button pressed while you drag the cursor down the column to copy as far as you want. I am a 62 YO It seem like you are a youngster around here compared to some. <g -- HTH Sandy In Perth, the ancient capital of Scotland and the crowning place of kings Replace @mailinator.com with @tiscali.co.uk "Leland5491" <u41633@uwe wrote in message news:80476a360045e@uwe...
