When saving file, Xcel generates .tmp file xls.~RFe17931.TMP in same folder
with the .xls file. Can manually delete, but if I open the file and save
again, it generates another .tmp file with different name (of course)
RFe4f49c.TMP. My question is why is the .TMP not automatically deleted.
This only happens in two subfolders containing Xcel files and no other
folders which contain Xcel files.

Not excel--it's AVG.

One person posted that they saw files that had names like: ~RF26c83af.TMP.

It was caused by AVG.

Thanks Dave,

I've found the same problem with the newest update on Trend Micro Internet
Security.
