Saving a Excel 97 file into Excel 2003 file

There is no problem in opening a Excel97 file into Excel 2003. The problem
occurs when trying to perform "Save As" after that. The error message is
"Excel cannot complete this task with available resources. Choose less data
or close other applications."

The file is only about 2.5MB and there is no other applications running in
the background except the normal firewall and antivirus programs.

The interesting thing about this problem is that, it occurs on one PC and
not on another? Both PC got 512MB DDR Ram and plenty of space in hard
drives. The total paging size is 768MB for both PCs. I have increased the
paging size to 1000MB but that does not help the problem. The PC showing
this problem got a P4 CPU and AGP display card supporting dual monitors,
whereas the other working PC got a Celeron CPU and a basic PCI display card
supporting single monitor.

I have tried to open the Excel 2003 file that was successfully saved in the
Celeron PC and it causes no problem in opening or saving.

Any suggestions?

I don't know why you're having trouble on one pc, but not the other.

But maybe you could close excel and try cleaning up the windows temp folder.
(just a guess).

If that fails, can you copy the worksheets to a different workbook and save
there?

If that fails, can you copy the cells on each worksheet and paste them to a new
worksheet in a new workbook and save there?
