Compile error in hidden module

I tried to load an add-in on Excel (currently running Excel 2000) and
the installation looked like it went smoothly, then I added it to the
tool menu no problem, now when I try to run the add-in I get the
Visual Basic error message: 'Compile error in hidden module: This
Workbook' sometimes I get the same error but it say 'Module3' instead
of 'This workbook'. If done some online researching and I've tried
pulling out the pdf xla and dot files and this has no effect on the
error messages. A microsoft support document suggested fiding the
project and unprotecting it, but when I found the xla file it wants a
password to open it. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Use windows|Search for the addin you tried to install. (Was it really the pdf
addin???)

Then move it somewhere else.

Then back to the person/website that created the addin and see if there's a fix.

Sorry, the pdfwriter.xla was just one thing I tried to fix my other
add-in and it made no changes when I moved the pdf file. Can't get in
touch with the creator. Wondering if there was a way to unprotect
some code that I don't have a password for.

You could search google for password removers.

http://www.lostpassword.com/

is one. (I've never used it.)
