Like the subject says, try it out.

Its REALLY annoying. Does anyone know how to change it?

Which version of Excel are you using.........they work ok for me in 98, 2k,
and XP.

Also, is it the same no matter what file you're using?
If only one file, is it the same on another computer with that file?

Looks fine to me in 2007 as well.
Can you supply any more details?
