Help: Counting characters in Excel

Good morning.

I have a spreadsheet with a column where I'll put an x if a condition
is fullfilled, is there a function so I can count how many x's are in
that column? thanks in advance.

Try this:

=COUNTIF(A:A,"x")

I've assumed you have your x's in column A - adjust to suit.

Hope this helps.

If you don't have any other values in that column........

=COUNTA(A:A)
