I have Office Professional 2003. I downloaded the Microsoft Office
Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats. I
still can't open *.xlsx files, getting dialogue box; "The converter failed to
open the file". What else can I do to read these files?

Weird. Haven't run into that one but I don't open a lot of 2007 files in
2003. Want to send me the file?

Unfortunately, can't share file - gov't data. I'll try viewer download, then
will breakdown and upgrade to buggy 2007. Thank you.
