chart is grayed out
 

I have one spreadsheet where, whenever I am working in cells, the chart turns
into a big gray square. If I click anywhere in the chart, it reappears, but
then goes back to gray as soon as I click a cell. I have never seen this
before. Any ideas about how/why and what I can do to fix it? It's pretty
complex and I would rather not redo it from the source data.

It might be useful to know that I am running 2003 11.8169.8172 SP3

Hi,

Make sure you have the setting Show all objects as it sounds like you
have Show placeholders set.

Use Tools Options View Show all objects.
