Default Conditional formatting

Dear all,

I am creating a pro forma for my office to calculate the volume of cut/fill
on a construction site. In order to do this an area is measured and the
depth at each of its nodes are inputted. Ideally the area to be measured is
split into triangles, however the areas can, on occasions, be squares,
pentagons, hexagons etc.

I wish therefore to have 6 columns where the node depths can be entered.
Further to this I wish for the cells to automatically be blacked out/filled
when referenced to another cell within which the user must input the nodes.

How is this possible?

Kind regards,

Neil
