How customizable are the headers/footers?
I have a request for a custom header in Excel and I'm having a hard time
getting what I want. When I type the text into the section of the header I want it to appear in and format it the way I want, it looks completely different when I leave the cell. Mainly the font size and the line spacing gets wacky. Also, there's not enough room in the header for the number of lines I want in the header, can I make it bigger? I thought maybe a graphic of the information I wanted to place in the header was a good option, but I need it to run the width of the page and it only goes as far as whatever section I use to insert it. Is there a way to combine the sections? Any help appreciated. Thank you |

You can format the font, including the font size, by selecting the text that
you want to format and then clicking on the font icon. You can increase or decrease the space allotted for the header or footer in the Margins tab of the Page Setup dialog (command is File/Page Setup) or graphically by doing a print preview, then clicking the Margins button. The header and footer areas will show below the top margin for the header and above the bottom margin for the footer. Hope this helps. The only formatting for text is font type, size and underline, strikethrough and
a couple others. No font color available. Max characters per header/footer is 255 Place a graphic wide enough to stretch across from margin to margin into the center footer and see what happens.
