Restore A Document

I am so foolish. I had a 2007 payroll worksheet that I needed to change for
2008. Not realizing that I did not do "save as" first, I wiped out all my
2007 totals. Is there a way to restore a document to a prior state? FYI I
did close the document before realizing what I had done.

Sorry, no. Once you save the file and close XL, you're pretty much out
of luck unless you have a backup. There may be (expensive) commercial
solutions that can scan your HD, assuming you haven't already
overwritten the physical location of the replaced file.

If you haven't already done so, establish a backup plan. For something
mission critical, consider setting the file to always create a backup on
save (click the Options button in the Save As dialog).
