Default Data Validated Cell Arrow not Appearing

Hi

In the same workbook I have the above problem in one page only. Throughout
the page.

The cells get validated if validation is done manually or by macro. However
since there is no arrow a value from the list cannot be selected. Instead I
have key in a value within the list range.

If anyone has come across such a problem please reply.

Thanks

You could try, from the Menu Bar:

<Tools <Options <View tab,

And make sure that under Objects, "Show All" *IS* checked.

It sounds as though you have some validation type other than List.

Hi

I copied the problem page contents to an other page. I have had a temporary
solution. However can anyone explain the reason why that page behaved
differently?

You can hide that arrow in the Data|Validation dialog.

On the Settings tab, you can choose List and see an optionbutton for:
In-Cell Dropdown

Is that checked?

This doesn't seem to fit--it would affect all the worksheets in that workbook,
but you may want to check anyway.

In xl2003:
Tools|Options|View tab|Objects section
make sure "show all" is checked

Hi

Thank you all for replying.

I checked every suggestion. The site I got connected via Valko's reply says
page corruption may be the reason so I stop there. I do not have the problem
in other pages in the file so I have been able to copy the data to an other
page and continue.

Thanks again. Loop closed.

I have exactly the same problem. It's nothing to do with View options. I
can only conclude that I too have a corrupt page... (and that scares me!)
